Snow...

As you all know it very rarely snows in San Antonio and this year was no exception. We saw one small snow flurry that lasted approximately 10 seconds and that was all. lol So when Manu announced her new kit, Frosty Fun, I knew that I was going to have to enlist help to find a picture with snow. Luckily my SIL's parents live in Connecticut and had sent some beautiful winter photos to my FIL.

Our Newest Family Member...

We have a new family member and her name is Juliette. She's a wonderful kitty and we adopted her just over a week ago. Here is a photo of her although the lighting shows her to be more brown than the grey color that she truly is. Juliette is the newest addition to our family. We adopted her from Petsmart on Julia’s birthday, (12/30/09), and she has spent time adjusting to her new family and home. Sentimental Journey is Here!

Sentimental Journey is a brand new scrap kit created by Manu (Scrapbook Graphics). The kit is full of gorgeous vintage elements and papers from the 1940's era and is perfect for family photos from long ago. The first layout, Fashionista, shows a picture of my MIL's mom walking through downtown San Antonio. Downtown has certainly changed since then! LOL

Even though the kit lends itself to heritage style photos and layouts, it can still be adapted quite easily for modern day photos too. My second layout shows two of my children in a fantasy scene that uses one of the background papers from the kit.

Just a few days now and Christmas will finally be upon us. My kids are so excited and somehow my youngest son, who is 8 years old, keeps finding items to add to his Christmas Wish List. LOL

I have three new layouts to share with all of you today :) The first layout is a birthday layout featuring my youngest child when he was an infant. The kit used is from Irene Alexeeva (Scrap Orchard) and it's called 'Birthdee-Doo.' Digidesign Resort has released a wonderful collaboration kit this month and it's full of fairytale elements and magical papers. The kit is (appropriately) titled, Fairytale Collaboration Kit, and it is comprised of elements and papers from many of the Digidesign Resort designers. The word art was a blog freebie that I found at Elegant Word Art by Bethany's website some time ago and reads, "Cats are like potato chips... you can't have just one."

Anyone up for a little Harry Potter?

Here's a picture of Justin taken at Halloween several years ago. He wanted to dress up as a Harry Potter student from the Ravenclaw House so my mom made him a wonderful wizard robe which he wore proudly... and often!

Throughout the course of the past few weeks I have showed you a couple of layouts that I made using a couple of kits from Irene Alexeeva's (Scrap Orchard) fairytale series. The kits are 'Thumbelina,' a very feminine kit perfect for little girl photos, and 'Tom Thumb,' which is a kit created from a variety of blue shades that is perfect for little boy layouts! A few days ago she released 'Lilac Dreams,' which is an add-on to the kits mentioned above. It is comprised of lavendar shades of color and include two papers and ten elements. Best of all it's free on her blog! This layout uses the entire 'Lilac Dreams' Add On and a few elements from Irene's 'Thumbelina' Kit. Here are the links:

Irene Alexeeva (Scrap Orchard) has released another kit today and this time it's the coordinating kit to 'Thumbelina' (an all pink kit perfect for girls) which was released a few weeks ago. Tom Thumb is created in a beautiful array of blue colors and I had such a blast creating this layout of our second oldest child, Justin. Needless to say that this photo was taken many years ago as Justin is now 13 years old! LOL

Sweet Nature Layout...

WooHoo! Irene Alexeeva has a new kit hitting the stores today and it's a beauty. Melon Smoothie is a combination of pastel papers and elements including handpainted and can be found at her store ( www.scraporchard.com ). Here's a CT layout that I came up with today and it shows the kids on one of our nature walks at the Lost Maples State Park in 2004.

Journaling:

The Lost Maples State Park is a wonderful place to visit pretty much any time during the year. During Spring and Summer, the vegetation is green and during the Fall the maple leaves turn beautiful shades of brown and gold. These photos were taken during one of our weekend walks on the East trail in 2004. The kids had a blast but were very hot and tired by the time we reached the Odell park bench along the trail!
